“Every kid deserves a present on Christmas.”
Those words were uttered by Fred Clause, the narcissistic brother of good ole Saint Nick. While that movie was hilarious and most of all, fictitious, those words never rang more true.
Every kid does deserve a present at Christmas. However, the time to start planning for the holiday season isn’t when the ground turns hard and the threat of frost bite is swirling in the air. Helping children is a never-ending process. It’s a responsibility everyone shares.
There are many outstanding organizations devoted to helping children in need and those organizations need to be commended. But let’s face it, they are continuously fighting an uphill battle.
That’s why I’ve decided to put together a go fund me page, called “A Christmas miracle — a kid’s wish” to help those in need; to insure more children are able to wake up this Christmas with a new sense of hope and faith. I’ve set the goal at $10,000. At first glance, that goal might seem lofty. However, I’m not hoping to just reach that goal; I expect to exceed that expectation. We need to band together as a community and prepare for our own Christmas miracle this December.
I haven’t finalized the details on how the money will be distributed. But I can promise you this, every penny will help local children have a Merry Christmas. I am accepting donations through the end of November. Anyone who wants to be part of the miracle can visit https://www.gofundme.com/childswish to make a contribution.
Please continue to walk beside me as we follow this journey down a new road of possibilities.
