Their Unit won the Central Division National awards for Public Relations and Leadership for a total of 3 certificates and 1 plaque that were awarded at the annual Department of Ohio ALA School of Instruction held September 25-26, 2015 at Cherry Valley Lodge in Newark, Ohio.
Their Unit is proud of these achievements & recognizes all members who contribute to activities done all year long to make successful report writing possible. “What we do is a TEAM effort,” says Kathi Jo Zornes, Unit 471 President, “Without the hard work and dedication for veterans shown by ALL of our members, these awards would not be attainable. The Officers & Board of Russell D Williams American Legion Auxiliary Unit 471 welcome all women who meet the membership criteria to join their cause in serving veterans and active military. Meetings are monthly on the 2nd Tuesday at 7 pm at their Legion Hall at 950 Gallia Street, Portsmouth, Ohio.
