As part of the Ohio Department of Transportation – District 9’s Planning & Engineering Department, the district’s Environmental Office is seeking public input on the following project on state Route 335 in Scioto County.
SCI-335-13.61 (PID: 91410) – It is proposed to replace the structure over Bull Run on S.R. 335 in Madison Township. The existing structure, which is located between Township Road 213 (Graham Road) and County Road 204 (Cathey Road), is a corrugated metal pipe arch, and the new structure will be a 14’ x 8’ precast concrete four-sided box culvert with full height wing walls and head walls. No new right of way will be required, and no homes or businesses will be removed by the project. In addition, no trees with habitat for the federally endangered Indiana bat or the federally threatened northern long eared bat will be removed.
The project is currently expected to be awarded in the fall of 2016, and a road closure may be necessary to construct the project. Additional information regarding the proposed projects, including a complete description, maps and plans sheets, is available online at http://www.dot.state.oh.us/districts/D09/Pages/Public-Involvement-Process.aspx.
Issues the public may wish to comment on include the effect on local residents, air quality, the local economy, and historic or cultural resources. Written comments should be submitted by September 4, 2015, or the deadline date that is posted on the web site, to:
