As part of the Ohio Department of Transportation – District 9’s Planning & Engineering Department, the district’s Environmental Office is seeking public input on the following project in Scioto County.
SCI-73-11.63 (PID: 91580) – The proposed project is to replace the structure located over Wolf Run on S.R. 73, just west of County Road 41 (Big Spruce-Little Bear Road) and approximately one mile west of S.R. 371, in Union Township. The existing structure is a steel pipe arch with half-height head walls, and the new structure will be a pre-cast, four-sided box culvert with full-height wing walls and head walls. No new right of way will be acquired for the project, and no trees that have habitat for the federally endangered Indiana bat or the northern long-eared bat will be removed.
The project is currently expected to be awarded in the fall of 2016, and a temporary road closure may be necessary to complete construction. Additional information regarding the proposed projects, including a complete description, maps and plans sheets, is available online at http://www.dot.state.oh.us/districts/D09/Pages/Public-Involvement-Process.aspx.
Issues the public may wish to comment on include the effect on local residents, air quality, the local economy, and historic or cultural resources. Written comments should be submitted by August 31, 2015, or the deadline date that is posted on the web site, to:
