A signal improvement project will get under way in Scioto County next week, as contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation – District 9 mobilize crews and begin site preparations.
On Monday, August 10, crews from West End Electric will begin replacing wiring, conduit and signal heads to upgrade the signalization at the intersection of U.S. Route 23 and state Route 348/728 at Lucasville.
As most work will take place off the roadway, traffic impacts should be minimal. However, traffic maintained by flaggers as well as troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol when crews are at work. Motorists advised of possible intermittent periods of delay at the intersection, and they are also reminded of the need for additional caution in the work zone.
West End Electric of Portsmouth, Ohio, was awarded a contract for approximately $52,519, and the project is anticipated to be completed by early September.
