PALS, Inc. Fall Dance Fundraiser

Back by popular demand, PALS, Inc. or Portsmouth Area Ladies will again present the Rick K & the Allnighters Band as a major headliner and attraction at its fall dance fundraiser set for 8 – 11 p. on October 23 at the SOMC Friends Center. Due to a large regional following for the dynamic show band, which is known all over the eastern half of the United States, PALS, Inc. is making an early announcement of the event, said fundraising chairperson Debbie Morgan.

Morgan urges everyone who enjoys great band music and lively entertainment to mark their calendars for this show and get tickets early. Those interested in tickets, priced at $20 per person, may contact Saundra Wheeler at (740) 353-5044. PALS, an all-volunteer organization, will sponsor the evening of music, entertainment and dancing to raise funds to support local charitable needs and nonprofits that work to improve the quality of life in Portsmouth and the surrounding area.

“Rick K & the Allnighters will take their audience on a ‘road trip’ from the Fabulous Fifties to the new millennium in music and song. It is a high energy show that encourages crowd participation. The band is a group of highly-skilled, high-energy musicians and vocalists that provide class and professionalism at every show,” said Tami Davis who has known and followed the band for many years.

“I have seen them in person many times as they are a favorite in the Jackson area where both the Jaycees and the BPW have them each year for their fundraising events,” Davis added. “It’s always a packed house! The ‘Mad Drummer,’ Steve Moore, is a show himself. He’s

unbelievable to watch and people are mesmerized by his actions. I’m excited we’re having them in Portsmouth so that other people can enjoy this entertainment.”

Rick K & the Allnighters have performed their “retro rock ‘n roll” road trip for audiences from the eastern coast to Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa and Minnesota. In July they will appear during the Greenbrier Classic Golf Tournament week at the Greenbrier Resort.

The evening will include refreshments and the raffle of an Ohio State University gift basket, as well as other attractions. More details about the band may be found on its website,, and further information about the PALS event may be obtained from Morgan or Davis.
