All Saints’ Church

The community is warmly invited to worship with All Saints’ Church. On Sunday, we gather for Communion at 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. Christians of every denomination are welcome to receive communion in the Episcopal Church.

A Loaves and Fishes meal will be served to members of the community at noon on Saturday, Aug. 26.

All Saints’ is located at the corner of 4th and Court Streets in Portsmouth.

Candy Run Wesleyan Tabernacle

The Candy Run Wesleyan Tabernacle, located at 1054 Lucasville-Minford Road in Lucasville, will host the Southern Ohio Interchurch Holiness Convention on Friday, Aug. 24 and Saturday, Aug. 25. The opening rally will commence on Thursday, Aug. 24 at 7 p.m., while official events kick off on Friday with a morning service at 10:30 a.m., a fasting and prayer at 12 p.m., and an evening service at 7 p.m.

Leonard Sankey, along with Dennis and Barbara Hayes will be among the guest speakers at the event, while Carl Rose will serve as the host pastor for the event. Mark Hunter will serve as the convention moderator and Grace Bloomfield will be the Music INFO Coordinator.

First Church of God — Coles Boulevard

Pastor Chad Benner and the congregation of Coles Blvd. First Church Of God, located at 1300 Coles Blvd., Portsmouth, welcomes all to come worship at First Church.

Sunday, August 20, 10:30 a.m. — Morning Worship with Pastor Chad bringing the message from God’s Word. An interpreter for the deaf and hard of hearing is available at all services.

Sunday, August 20, 6 p.m. — Evening Worship with Pastor Chad bringing the message from God’s Word.

Monday, August 21, 5:30 p.m. — Exercise Class in the Fellowship Hall.

Tuesday, August 22, 3 – 5 p.m. — Tracy Park Ministry

Wednesday, August 23, 6 p.m. — Bible Study, with Pastor Chad continuing the study on the book of Thessalonians.

Thursday, August 24, 3 – 5 p.m. — Coles Blvd. Local Compassionate Ministries Food Pantry is open. Entrance is at the back door.

Thursday, August 24, 5:30 p.m. — Exercise Class in the Fellowship Hall.

North Moreland Christian Baptist Church

North Moreland Christian Baptist Church, located at 1910 Harrisonville Avenue, Portsmouth, welcomes all to attend its services and events throughout the week. Breakfast is served every Sunday morning from 8:30 a.m.-9:30 a.m, with Sunday School immediately following from 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m.

Pastor Paul Hagen and Super Church Pastor Chris Meenach will preach from 10:30 a.m. to noon as part of the Morning Worship Service 10:30, and at 6 p.m. as part of the Evening Worship Service. On Wednesdays, the Prayer Meeting Service and the Children’s Bible Club each meet at 7 p.m., and a Youth Meeting is also held each Thursday with Ed Zeno at 6 p.m.

St. John Lutheran Church

St. John Lutheran Church, located at 5600 Junior Furnace-Powellsville Road in Franklin Furnace, invites all to their annual Give-Away Day, which will commence on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. We will be giving away gently used clothing and household items as well as backpacks and school supplies for school children. Children should be present to choose their backpacks.

Sunday morning worship is at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Carl Beck. Children’s Church is provided. Everyone is welcome. Our phone number is 740-574-8028.

Wheelersburg First Church of Christ

Denny Coburn will bring the message from God’s Word during the 10:30 a.m. worship service on Sunday, Aug. 20, at the First Church of Christ, 1224 Dogwood Ridge Road, Wheelersburg. He will teach during sunday school, which will begin at 9:30 a.m. Kevin Yeager will preach during the 6 p.m. worship service.

Ladies will meet for Bible study at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, and all ladies are invited to join FCC to study the Bible.

Praise, prayer and Bible study will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, and they will continue a study of Matthew.
