The Greenup County Homemakers Club is presently looking for new members. The Greenup Club is the oldest Homemakers Club in Greenup County, having been formed just after World War I. Membership is open to any person, regardless of race, color, gender, age, religion, disability, or national origin. Members also do not need to reside in Greenup County.
Homemakers learn about energy, money and time management; foods and nutrition; housing and home furnishings: textiles and clothing; health; family life; international understanding; and community issues and concerns. Membership also provides opportunities for broader social development and volunteer services. Meetings are informal with pleanty of time for fellowship, idea sharing, and show-and-tell.
An open house is planed for Thursday, August 20 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in the Greenup Library’s Community Room. Lora Pullin, Greenup County Extension Agent for Family & Consumer Sciences will speak on what Homemakers is all about & what they do.
