PORTSMOUTH, Ohio – The Morehead University Percussion, an internationally acclaimed percussion ensemble, will be performing at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 3 at the Vern Riffe Center for the Arts.
Under the direction of Dr. Brian S. Mason, who has guided the ensemble since 2009, the group has toured Brazil, Spain, China, as well as toured nationally in the United States. The performance includes a variety of contemporary percussion styles from all around the world.
Many of the local residents have met the standards for the talent to be admitted as part of the Morehead Percussion Ensemble thanks to the quality of the musical programs in the area. This year’s ensemble will have a number of performers from the Adams, Lawrence and Scioto counties.
Tickets are $10 for children under the age of 12, $15 for SSU students, $19 for seniors, and $20 for the general public. Upper tier prices and prices for families and groups are available at a discounted price.
