Portsmouth, Ohio, Air Evac Lifeteam pilot Shane Oldfield was recently honored as the company’s Region 2 Pilot of the Year. Region 2 includes all Air Evac Lifeteam bases in Kentucky, Ohio, and West Virginia and the Lafayette, Tenn., base.
Aaron Winfield, regional director of flight operations, said the Pilot of the Year is presented to the pilot who has exceeded job expectations by presenting a professional image, is a team player, demonstrates a desire to increase knowledge and skills, and actively pursues opportunities to promote Air Evac through community involvement.
“Shane is also the base pilot supervisor for the Portsmouth base,” Winfield said. “As a base leader, he participates in company and community events. Shane considers the readiness of the Portsmouth base and aircraft his top priority, and takes the safety and maintenance of the aircraft to heart.”
