The Portsmouth Elks Lodge 154 has donated $3,100 to the Scioto County Board of Developmental Disabilities’ Vern Riffe School. The money will be used to purchase needed equipment to aid in the learning process of students at the school.

The Elks annually distributes charitable contributions on a national scale making them the most charitable organization in the United States today. In the state of Ohio the Elks major charitable project is in supporting individuals with cerebral palsy.

“We are very grateful to the yearly contributions made by the Elks,” said Cornwell. “Because of their donations we have been able to purchase many needed pieces of equipment to help our students in the learning process. Last year’s donation helped us purchase a SMART Table that has proven to be a great tool in our educational efforts.”
