On March 12, 2016, the Ohio Society United States Daughters of 1812 held
their 116th Spring Council meeting in Mansfield, Ohio. Members of the Scioto Valley Volunteers (SVV), who attended were: Beth Normand (Vice-President), Carolyn Hilliard (Recording Secretary), Mary Crist (Treasurer) and Naomi Shewman (Chaplain).
Vice-President Normand presented the SVV President’s report as an alternate to President Gail Swick. State Committee Chairman, Hilliard, presented the Correct Use of the Flag Committee report.
Immediately following the meeting adjournment by Sunda Peters, State
President, a brief memorial service was observed for the passing of Ohio
Society 1812 members during the 2015 calendar year.
Attendees enjoyed the “Mansfield Log House Project” presentation by
Tom Pappas and Anthony Seal during the lunch hour.
