The Washington-Nile Local Board of Education met on March 23, 2016 at Portsmouth West High School. Mr. Tony Bazler, high school principal, gave the prayer and let Pledge of Allegiance.

The board took the following action:
* Approved the February 24, 2016 minutes and February 2016 financial reports
* Authorized the treasurer to apply for 2016-2017 state and federal programs
* Approve payment in lieu of transportation
* Approve Ohio SchoolComp Workers Comp program
* Accept budget commission millage rate
* Approve FY15 Audit
* Extend the waste removal contract to Republic Services for additional year FY17.
* Employed substitute teachers per ESC recommendation
* Approve contracts with ESC
* Approve volunteers
* Approve classified resignation retirement of Roger Gillum, bus driver
