As the calendar inches toward spring and summer, high school seniors throughout our region have started to prepare for their post-secondary education. Scholarships play a vital role in that preparation. Once again, the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO) is excited to begin accepting scholarship applications to donor-established funds within FAO. Detailed information regarding eligibility and application guidelines, as well as the application, can be found on the Foundation’s website, www.AppalachianOhio.org/Scholarships. The deadline for applications to be mailed or emailed is March 31, 2016.
“The opening of another scholarship application season leaves us inspired,” said Cara Dingus Brook, president and CEO of the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio. “It is a special time when the generosity of our donors and the dreams of our students spark new beginnings.”
The Foundation offers a variety of scholarships targeted toward students from different counties, studies, and interests. Students can identify one or multiple scholarships suited to their educational plans.
Detailed information on scholarship opportunities, guidelines, eligibility, and application forms can be found on FAO’s scholarships page. Completed applications and all accompanying materials must be emailed to Emily Webb at firstname.lastname@example.org, or mailed with postmark by March 31, 2016 to the Foundation’s office at PO Box 456, Nelsonville, OH 45764.
Each year, the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio offers scholarships to students across the 32 counties of Appalachian Ohio. For more information about how to grow scholarship resources for the region’s students, please visit FAO’s homepage or call 740.753.1111.
