For the second consecutive year, Atomic Credit Union has been named one of the “2015 Best Credit Unions to Work For” by the Credit Union Journal in conjunction with the Best Companies Group. This is a designation that considered credit unions from across the country to identify companies that have excelled in creating quality workplaces for employees.
Atomic’s President/CEO, Tom Griffiths, stated, “Our intention as an organization is to treat our employees with the same respect and enthusiasm with which we serve our members. As we have grown to 12 full service branches, the employees who staff these locations must feel respected to serve our members effectively.”
Determining the winner required a two-step evaluation process. First, workplace policies, practices and demographics of each participating credit union were evaluated. Second, employee surveys aimed at assessing the experiences and attitudes of individual employees were collected. After this process, Atomic Credit Union received the honored distinction.
When asked why Atomic Credit Union is such a great place to work, Julie Maple, Vice President of Human Resources, replied “Atomic strives to create a caring environment for its employees. Providing a competitive benefits package along with a fun work atmosphere, creates an environment where employees are satisfied and happy.”
The Atomic Credit Union serves 14 counties and over 34,000 members in Southern Ohio. The Credit Union Journal, published by SourceMedia, is the nation’s leading credit union newsweekly, providing objective credit union community news. As of June 30, 2015 there were 6,281 U.S. based credit unions with 320 inside Ohio. The total number of Credit Union members in the United States recently clipped the 101 million mark.
