Kids’ Events Announced

Valentine Party and craft

Children will have a sweet time at the Library. We will making a Valentine Craft and making some sweet treats to take home and enjoy. This program is intended for children 12 and under. Call your local library location for more information.

At South Webster- February 5 at 6pm

At Wheelersburg- February 7 at 4:30pm

At Portsmouth-February 9 at 12pm

At Lucasville- February 9 at 2pm

Artist Buffet

The Youth Services department will be hosting an Artist Buffet February 7 from 3-4pm. Children will get to choose items for a buffet of craft materials and make their own projects. Ages 6-12 years.

Chinese New Year Party

Kids can join the South Webster Library Branch February 8 from 4-5 pm. to celebrate the year of the snake. They will make a craft, learn interesting facts about snakes, and check out some books. Program intended for ages 8-12. To reserve a spot, call 778-2122.

Book Sale Raffle:

In February, you could win a fun paint swatch mobile made from recycled books. For every item you buy from our book sale, you will be entered into a drawing to win this festive paint swatch mobile.

February Trivia Contest

All through the month of February you can participate in our monthly trivia contest. You can pick up a copy of the trivia sheet at the main library or go to our website at yourppl.org to fill it out. All entries need to be turned in by February 28th.

Adult Painting Class

The New Boston Branch Library will be hosting a 2 hour beginner’s painting class February 4 at 5:30 pm. There will be limited available seating, please stop to pre-register, fee is required at sign-up. For more information, call the New Boston Branch Library at 456-4412.

Pieces & Patches Quilting

This quilting group welcomes beginners as well as experienced quilters. They will be meeting at the Lucasville library location February 4 from 6-7:45 pm. (this is an Adult Program)

Yoga

The Portsmouth Public Library will be hosting its Yoga group at 10am in the Copley Meeting Room on Tuesday, February 5.

Eating Smart: Being Active

This nutrition class offered through EFNEP, a division of the OSU Extension, will teach participants how to become more healthy in today’s fast paced world. Classes will be offered Thursday afternoons from 3:30-5pm from February 7- March 28 at the New Boston Library location. Participants will receive a certificate upon successful completion of the course.

Zipper Rose and Heart

New ideas for zippers! Make a cute rose or heart! Program held in the Copley Room at the Portsmouth location February 7 at 4pm. Visit Local History or call 354-5304 to register. Ages 8-12.

Recycled Valentine’s Day Craft

Join the Portsmouth Public Library February 8 for a fun day of Valentine’s Day card making at the Portsmouth location. We will supply everything you need to make the Valentine’s Day card of your dreams. The program starts at 3 pm. for ages 12 and up.
