Larry Thomas Barnes 73 of Wheelersburg died December 21, 2012 at his residence. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Ellen Conley Barnes. Also surviving are one son, Kenneth Barnes, one brother, Richard (Hilda) Barnes, one sister, Barbara Barnes McGraw, one grandson and three great grandchildren. Services were Sunday, December 23, 2012 at the Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home with Pastor Perry Prosch officiating.
Larry L. Branch, 69, of West Portsmouth, died December 23, 2012 at Southern Ohio Medical Center. He is survived by, two daughters, Liska Kuhn of Logan, Ohio and Susie Christenson of Chino Hills, California; a son Darren Branch; seven grandchildren: and five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Linda Rembout of Ceres, California. There is to be no visitation or service. Arrangements are under the direction of F. C. Daehler Mortuary Company of Portsmouth.
Mary R. “Sis” Cassidy 89, of Portsmouth, died Friday, December 21, 2012 at SOMC Hospice. Surviving are her children Pam (Dave) Henson of Milford, Dan (Sharon) Cassidy of Mt Orab, Chuck (Mary) Cassidy of Harrison, Phillip (Carol) Cassidy of
Portsmouth, Mark (Selma) Cassidy of Batavia. Shawn (Judy) Cassidy of Milford, twelve grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren two brothers Richard Jones of Portsmouth and Charles Robert Jones of West Portsmouth.
Services were held Thursday December 27,2012 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with The Rev. Adam Streitenberger officiating.
Margaret S. Castle, 86, of Sciotoville, died on Wednesday, December 19, 2012, at the SOMC Hospice House. Sis is survived by two sons, Tom (Ruth Ann) Castle of Indianapolis, Ind. and David (Amy) Castle of Portsmouth, a sister, Frankie Hood of Ormond Beach, Fla., four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A funeral service was Monday at the Brant Funeral Home in Sciotoville with Pastor Caleb LaFond and Rev. Richard North officiating.
Hattie Florence Hickman Clausing, 85, of Portsmouth, died on Thursday, December 20, 2012 at the SOMC Hospice Center. Survivors include her son, Michael (Sarah) Clausing, and daughter, Kathie Clausing Liles, both of Portsmouth; grandsons; granddaughters and great-grandson. Services were held Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at F.C. Daehler Mortuary Company in Portsmouth.
Betty Holt, 87, of Portsmouth, died Friday morning, December 21, 2012 at SOMC in Portsmouth. She is survived by two granddaughters; a grandson and two great-grandchildren. Services were Wednesday December 26, 2012 at Melcher Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Pastor Janice Elliott officiating.
Gerald Earl Hyland age 60 of Piketon died December 22, 2012 at Southern Ohio Medical Center Hospice. He is survived by one son, Albert James (Joanna) Hyland, two daughters, Kelli Ann (Brian) Robinson and Kimberly Jane (Ron) Dickess, two brothers, Dan Hyland and Bill Hyland, one sister, Bobbi Jo Hyland, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Services were Thursday, December 27, 2012 at the Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg with Pastor Larry Lavender officiating.
Pauline Mae Hunter, 91, of Rosemount, died December 25. Surviving are five sons, Gary Lee (Billie Jean) Hunter of London, Robert D. (Sue) Hunter of Columbus, Michael K. (Donna Frabott) Hunter of Columbus, Dr. Jeffrey L. (Robin) Hunter of Columbus, and Mark S. (Virgie) Hunter of Portsmouth, and three sisters, Martha Conley of Sunbury, Virginia Rockwell of Portsmouth, & Carol Coldiron of Columbus. Pauline is also survived by grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Services were held on Saturday at the Brant Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Rev. David Cottrell officiating.
Bonnie Jean Kennedy, 68, of Sciotoville, died Monday, December 24, 2012, at Bridgeport Healthcare. Surviving are her husband, Paul Kennedy, a stepson, Robert (Sherre) Kennedy of Manchester, three sisters, Joyce (John) Farmer and Connie (James) McNeill, all of Portsmouth, and Peggy (James) Bates of Paducah, KY, two step grandsons and three step great-grandchildren. Services were held on Thursday at the Edgewood Abbey Mausoleum with Rev. Peter Michael officiating.
Donald Wayne Ross, 78, of Portsmouth, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012 at Regency Hospital in Columbus. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Laswell Ross, one daughter Teresa Lynn Ross of English, Ind.; one son, Joel Ross of Lucasville; three grandchildren, one great grandchild and one sister. Services were Monday, Dec. 24, 2012 at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville with Rev. David Cottrell officiating.
