Dorothy Marie Allberry, 92, of Portsmouth, died Wednesday November 28, 2012

at SOMC Hospice. Surviving are one brother James Sommer, a stepson Charles (Cathy) Allberry, two cousins Rosemary (Gerald) Pierron and Creed Milstead.

Services were held Saturday December 1, 2012 at St Mary Catholic of The Annunciation Church, with The Rev. Adam Streitenberger officiating.

Lola Allen

1942-2012

Lola L. Allen, 70, of West Portsmouth died Saturday, November 24, 2012 at

Ohio State University Hospital East in Columbus. Surviving are her husband Kenneth Allen and one daughter Stephanie Allen of Columbus. Also surviving are one sister Audrey Harris of Las Vegas, Nevada and one brother David Gardner of Cincinnati, Ohio. Services were held on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Melcher Funeral Home with The Rev. Ralph Clay officiating.

Dale Beery

1923-2012

Revered Dale E. Beery, 89, of Wayne Township in Adams County, Ohio died Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at the Adams County Manor in West Union.

He is survived by three sons: Dan E. (Joyce) Beery of Ingalls, Kansas, Robert D. (Carole) of Chesaning, Michigan and Timothy D. (Tia) Beery of Columbus; two daughters, Annette J. (Stephen) Glasgow of Seaman and Rebecca L. (Van) Romine of Siler City, North Carolina; two sisters, Leah Canady of Hilliard and June Immel of Warsaw, Indiana; 16 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces. Services were held Monday, November 26, 2012, at Mt. Hope Bible Camp near Otway. Pastor Cliff Stevens and Pastor Jim Brown will officiate.

Mary Carter

Mary Evelyn Carter, 67 of Portsmouth, died Thursday, November 22, 2012 at Bridgeport Healthcare Center in Portsmouth. Evelyn is survived by two sisters, Patty Robbins of Sciotoville, Barbara Seibert (Calvin) of Minford and one brother, Roy Carter (Lou) of Sciotoville. Services were held on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at Wolfe-Nelson Funeral Home in Sciotoville with Pastor Robin Blackburn officiating.

Michael Crabtree

1949-2012

Michael Wayne Crabtree, of Mesa, Arizona, formerly of Lucasville, passed away at his home on Wednesday, November 22, 2012 after a long battle with cancer.

He is survived by his daughter Amanda (Jeff) Baker of Mesa; one granddaughter, three step-daughters, seven step grandchildren; one brother, Donald (Coleen) Crabtree of Lucasville; two sisters Sue (Charles) Gregory of Tarlton, Ohio, and his twin, Joyce Elaine Crabtree of Lucasville. A memorial service will be held in Mesa at a later date.

William Cox

William “Bill” G. Cox, 89 of Portsmouth, died November 23, 2012. Bill leaves behind his wife, Doris J. Cox; his son, Tim(Karen) Cox of Maysville, Kentucky and three grandchildren. Services were Monday, November 26, 2012 at F.C. Daehler Mortuary Company in Portsmouth with Pastor Chris Cox officiating.

Wilhelmina Ferguson

Wilhelmina Ferguson, 93, of Portsmouth, passed away Sunday, November 25, 2012 at Golden Years Convalescent Center. Surviving are two daughters; Dr. Helaine Daniels of Providence, RI and Alece (Brent) Cowen of Portsmouth; a step-daughter, Gloria Jean Ferguson of Miami, FL; two grandchildren. Services were held Friday, Nov. 30 at Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church with Rev. Isaiah Haille officiating.

Janet Lee Gullion, aged 75, died Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at the S.O.M.C. Hospice Center in Portsmouth, Ohio. Surviving is her husband, George Gullion, three sons: Chris Gullion of Sciotoville, Craig and Glenda Gullion of Minford, and Kevin and Melissa Gullion of Minford; one brother, Tom and Patty Johnson of Wheelersburg, three sisters Donna and Jerry Beil of Fenton, Michigan, Ruth and Roger O’Brien of Longboat Key, Florida and Debbie and Jay Harvey of Patterson New Jersey and seven grandchildren. Services were Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford, Ohio with Pastor Timothy Wright officiating.

He is survived by his wife, Edna Smith Henson; three sons, Russell (Trish) Henson of Delaware, David (Denise) Henson of Portsmouth, James (Belinda) Henson of Hurricane, WV; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two brothers, Homer Henson, Ralph Henson, and three sisters, Wanda Medley, Alvena Henson and Fern Ervin. Timothy M. Liles, 59, of Sciotoville, died Monday, November 9, 2012 at the Southern Ohio Medical Center. Surviving are his wife, Kristin Felts Liles, a son, Max Liles of Sciotoville, a daughter, Lindsey (Lionel) Hamilton of Hamilton, his mother Audrey Liles of Sciotoville, two brothers, Phil (Gayle) Alenne of Georgia and Gary (Judy) Liles of Virginia; and four grandchildren. Services were held on Friday, Nov. 23 at Christ United Methodist Church in Sciotoville.

Charlotte Louise Mayo, 71, of Marysville, a former Portsmouth resident, passed away Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Memorial Hospital in Marysville. She is survived by her husband George Justice Mayo, Sr., her son, George “Bose” (Amanda) Mayo of Lucasville; two daughters, Elena “Ellie” Mayo Sparks of Russell, KY, and Elaine (Victor) Mayo Jimenez of Marysville; two brothers, Charles Walter (Malinda) Price of Portsmouth, and Harold R. “Tony” (Judy) Price of Smithville, TN; and seven grandchildren. Services were held Wednesday, Nov. 28 at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth.

Rosemary Schroeder Martin

Rosemary Schroeder Martin, of Hillsboro formerly of Portsmouth, died Monday, November 26, 2012 at Hillsboro. Surviving are one son Raymond (Whyoma) Martin of Hillsboro, one daughter Anita Louise Frazier of South Lebanon, Ohio, eight grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are under the direction of Melcher Funeral Home.

She is also survived by a brother, Jeremy McKee, of Wheelersburg. Services were held Wednesday, November 28, 2012, at Edgewood Abbey Mausoleum, with Mark Price officiating.

Alberta Ruth Potters, 81 of Wheelersburg died November 22, 2012 at Best Care Nursing Home. She is survived by one son, Bill (Connie) Potters, one daughter, Cathy (Henry) Paxson, two grandchildren, Amanda Duncan and Haley Potters and great granddaughter, Hannah Duncan. Services were held, Monday, November 26, 2012 at the Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home with Pastor Ronnie Blevins officiating.

Jerry Lewis Russell age 57 of Lucasville died November 22, 2012 at Southern Ohio Medical Center. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Helen McNeil Russell, three sons, Robert Bostwick, Jason Bostwick and Justin Bostwick, one brother, Robert (Becky) Russell and three sisters, Rhonda (Jim) Smith, Rose Ann (Michael) Rosier and Melissa Jane (Chris) Robinson. There will be no visitation or services. Arrangements were under the direction of Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home.

Margaret Marie Waddell, 92, of Rosemount, died Monday, November 26, 2012 at the Southern Ohio Medical Center. Surviving are two daughters, Pat Frye of West Portsmouth and Phyllis Waddell of Rosemount, one sister, Louise Shekels, seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren. Services were held Thursday, Nov. 29 at the Brant Funereal Home in Portsmouth with Darrin Therber officiating.

Neylan Xavier Wilson

Neylan Xavier Wilson, 10 months, of Wheelersburg, died Tuesday, November 20, 2912, at Children’s Hospital in Columbus. He is also survived by one brother, Jace Howard; one sister, Malayah Wilson; grandparents Paulette Phillips, of Wheelersburg; Diantha Dawson, of Rosemount; John Simeona, of San Diego, CA; Larry Howard, of Portsmouth; great-grandmother, Dorothy Murphy, of Minford and a great-great-grandmother, Opal Leight, of Cincinnati. Services were held Monday, November 26, 2012, at the Swick-Bussa-Chamberlin Funeral Home in Wheelersburg with Pastor Robert Davis officiating.
