Jesse Roger Anderson, 84 of New Boston died on November 20, 2012 at SOMC Hospice. Jesse is survived by six children Michael, Donald, Patricia Sue, Roger Paul, Rhonda and Brenda 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Services were Friday November 23,2012 at Melcher Funeral Home.

Ramona Blevins


Ramona Blevins, 82, of Wheelersburg, formerly of Franklin Furnace, died Sunday, November 18, 2012. Surviving are two sons, Michael Blevins of Wheelersburg and Randy Blevins and wife Debbie, also from Wheelersburg; three brothers, Roger McNutt, Frank McNutt and Paul V. McNutt; three sisters, Darlene Lewis; Marlene Minehart and Donna Kay Shepherd; stepbrother, Joe Riffe and stepsisters Dolly Kun and Phyllis Adams; her grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Services were held Saturday, November 24, 2012, at the Swick-Bussa-Chamberlin Funeral Home in Wheelersburg with Pastor Tim Throckmorton, Andy Ramey and Frank Stidham officiating.

Jeannie Burman


Jeannie Purdy Burman, 64, of Blacklick, formerly of Sciotoville, died Monday, November 19, 2012, at the Zusman Hospice Center in Columbus. Surviving are two sons, Jason (Heather) Beaver of Blacklick and Jeremy (Chelsey) Burman of Pickerington; two brothers, Robert J. (Mary) Purdy of Portsmouth and Richard L. (Lynda) Purdy of Friendship; a sister, Barbara (Jeff) Brant of Sciotoville and four granddaughters. Services were held on Wednesday, Nov. 21 at the Brant Funeral Home in Sciotoville with Rev. Mike Gifford officiating.

Edith Corns


Edith Ann Corns, 81, of McDermott, died Sunday, November 18, 2012 at Southern Ohio Medical Center. Surviving is her husband, William “Bill” Henry Corns, of Portsmouth, three daughters, Susan Annette Corns of Columbus, April Nannette (Jeff) Kirkendall of Wheelersburg, and Lana Lannette Speas of Lucasville; and two grandchildren.

Services were held on Wednesday, Nov. 21 at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Rev. Tom Williams and Rev. Herb Geotz officiating.

Mary Rogers Grose


Mary Lou Rogers Grose, 82, of Minford died Monday, November 12, 2012 at SOMC Hospice. Mary is survived by her husband Gary Grose; daughters, Marilyn (Ron) Erion of Spearfish, SD, Lou Ann Grose and Carolyn (Robert) Waddell of Minford; 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 2 step-great grandchildren.

Services were held Friday, November 16, 2012, at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Rev. Sam Bradley officiating.

Alka Howard


Alka Mae Howard, 91, of Minford, died Monday, November 12, 2012 at her residence. She is survived by six sons, Russell (Ann) Howard of Georgia, Richard (Sue) Howard of McDermott, Louie Howard of Georgia, Robert Howard of Minford, John (Kay) Howard of Minford, Larry Howard of Amanda; three daughters, Connie Angel of Amanda, Sue (Tim) Morgan of Tennessee, Betty (Glen) McDaniel of Circleville; grandsons and granddaughters and numerous great grandchildren. Services were held Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Dennis Dawes officiating.

Herbert King


Herbert King, 89 died November 10, 2012. He is survived by his wife, Getta Louise Bennett King, one daughter, Mrs. Jerry Steinhauer (Shawna), three grandsons and a brother, George King. Services were held Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Pastor Rick Evans and Pastor Lowell King officiating.

Richard Laack


Richard Cameron Laack 56, of Portsmouth, died on Friday, November 16, 2012 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Huntington, WV. He is survived by his wife, Carol Laack of Wheelersburg; one son, James Laack of Portsmouth; his father, Carl Laack of Portsmouth and one brother, Kevin Laack of Greenup, KY. Services were held Monday, November 19, 2012, at Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg.

Tim Liles


Tim Liles, 59, of Sciotoville, died Monday, November 19, 2012, at the Southern Ohio Medical Center. Survivors include his wife, Kris Felts Liles. Arrangements are pending at the Brant Funeral Home in Sciotoville.

Jesus A. “Jesse” Lopez, 43, of Minford, Ohio, died at Ohio State University Hospital, Columbus, Ohio on Tuesday, November 13, 2012. He is survived by his wife Tamela Osborne Lopez; children Cynthia Spencer of Portsmouth, Jose Lopez of Minford,Jesus Lopez of Texas, and Christopher Lopez of Texas;step-daughters

Christina Dingus of Lucasville and Jody Benham of Minford. one grandchild and

five step-grandchildren. brothers and sisters Diana Alonza,Juanita Mojica,Carmen Oiera, Exaltacion,and Tony Lopez all of Coffman,Texas and Rosa Lopez of Greenville,Texas. Services were held at the convenience of the family.

William Price, Jr.


William Jackson Price, Jr., 47, of Portsmouth, died Sunday, November 18, 2012 in Portsmouth. In addition to his mother Nellie Myrtle Madden Price of Portsmouth, his son, Cody Clayton Price, at home; three brothers, Jeffrey, David and Robert Price, all of Portsmouth; and two sisters, Evelyn McLean of Greenville, SC, and Goldie Ann Strain of Franklin, OH. Arrangements are under the direction of the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth. There are to be no services.

Ronald Ray Sexton, 77, of Portsmouth, died Friday, November 16, 2012 at his home. Surviving are two sons, William Robert Sexton and Ronald Shawn Sexton, both of Portsmouth; two stepsons, Edward and Rick Dunston; a brother, Jim Sexton of Southfield, MI; four sisters, Angie Nagle of Covington, GA, Vicki Wiethe of Cincinnati, Sandy Shaffer of Madison, GA, and Delores Waddell of Maple Heights, OH and three grandchildren. Services were held on Wednesday, Nov. 21 at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Rev. Pete Michael officiating.

Emma Jean Stone, 84, of Minford, died, Monday, Nov. 19, 2012 from Elbrooke Pavilion in Minford. She is survived by her husband, James Stone of Portsmouth; one daughter Arlene (Chip) Boldman of Minford; one son Earl David (Peggy) Stephens of McConnellsville, OH; one brother Eddie (Rose) Henry of West Portsmouth; three sisters, Mary (Fred) Whitesel of Scotia, NY, Nancy (Larry) Shay of Columbus; and Ramona Williams of Portsmouth; five step-daughters, Sharon Pick, Kim Bradley, Pat Howell, Linda Seth, and Sherri Mediamolle; one step-son, Dwight Thomas; 10 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; several step grand and great-grandchildren. Services were conducted, Monday, Nov. 26, 2012 at Bethany Baptist Church with Pastor Al Owens officiating.
