Phyllis Sue (Cornwell) Adkins, 62, of Minford, died Wednesday, October 31, 2012. Phyllis is survived by three daughters; Sherry ( Scott) Lawson of Minford, Brandy (Jeff) Mullins of Portsmouth, Misty (Shannon) Holbrook of Minford; seven grandchildren and a sister, Vicki (Roy) Blevins of Minford. Services were held Saturday November 3, 2012 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Pastor Rob McKinney officiating.

Juanita Baker

Juanita Ruth Baker, 82, of Sciotoville, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, November 2, 2012 at her home. Surviving is her husband James A. Baker, two sons, Ron (Priscilla) Baker I of Lucasville and Donald (Dorcy) Baker of Sciotoville, two daughters, Patricia A. (Jay) Saunders of West Carrollton and Tuana R. Scott of Portsmouth; two sisters, Thelma Patton of Cincinnati and Shirley Lacy of West Union; 16 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Service were held Monday, Nov. 5 at the Brant Funeral Home in Sciotoville with her son, Pastor Ron Baker, officiating.

Albert Boggs

1918-2012

Albert Boggs 94, of Wheelersburg died on November 6, 2012 at Grant Medical Center in Columbus. Albert is survived by three sisters, Betty Sweeney of Xenia, Patricia (Peggy) Rodriquez of McArthur and Gloria Reed of Sciotoville.

Services were held Friday, November 9, 2012 at Wolfe-Nelson Funeral Home in Sciotoville with Pastor Clayton Brown officiating.

Sharon Boyle

1934-2012

Sharon J. Boyle age 78 died November 1, 2012 at Southern Ohio Medical Center. She is survived by three sons, Thomas R.(Peggy) Boyle, James A. (Renae) Boyle and David A. (Jackie) Boyle, one daughter, Jennifer A. (Terry) Stamper and nine grandchildren.Services were held Monday, November 5, 2012 at the Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home with Pastor John Goudy and Pastor Jim Boyle officiating.

Rose Marie Brisker, 75, of New Boston, died Friday, November 2, 2012, at the SOMC Hospice House. Surviving are a son, John (Carmen) Brisker of Minford, and three grandchildren. Services were held Tuesday, Nov. 5 at the Brant Funeral Home in Sciotoville with Pastor Gary Heimbach officiating.

Betty Jean Craycraft, 86, of Wheelersburg, died Wednesday, November 7, 2012, at Best Care Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wheelersburg. Surviving are one son, Ronald W. Craycraft, of Wheelersburg and one brother, Curtis David Shaffer, of Wheelersburg. Services were held Friday, November 9, 2012, at Edgewood Abbey Mausoleum at Memorial Burial Park, with Ronnie Blevins officiating.

Nora Alice Eagle, 79, of McDermott, went to be with the Lord, Monday, October 29, 2012 at SOMC Hospice. She is survived by one son, Robert E. (Mary Jo) Eagle of McDermott; one daughter Debra Mae Smith of Lucasville; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; four brothers Earnel Ward of Peebles, Harley Ward of Toledo, Washington, Jimmie Ward of Oregon City, Oregon, Edward Ward of Piketon; three sisters Marie Blankenship and Betty Wilson of Hillsboro, and Kay Sanno of Port Royal, Pennsylvania. Services were held Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012 at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville with Keith Monroe officiating.

Elmer Henderson

Elmer Henderson, 67, of Lorain, a former Portsmouth resident, passed away Sunday, October 28, 2012 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain.

Surviving Elmer is his wife Lena Louise “Sissy” Riley Henderson, his son, Elmer (Judy) Henderson Jr. of Columbus, his daughter, Geneva “Jenny” McCoy of Lorain; his brother, Jack Crosby of Florida; his sister, Shirley (Rodger) Robbins of Lorain; 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Services were held Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012 at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Pastor Howard Pruitt officiating.

Shauna Huang

Shauna Kim Huang, 55, of Tampa, Fla., formerly of Lucasville, died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012 in a Tampa Hospital. She is survived by her husband, Joseph Yu-zing Huang, one step-son, Tristen Diddlemeyer of Ocean Spring, Mississippi; two brothers Roger Goodwin Phillipsburg, Ohio and Terry Goodwin of Springfield, Ohio; and one sister Clarissa Hoffer of Lucasville. Services were held on Monday, Nov. 5, 2012 in Scioto Burial Park.

Wanda Hurt

Wanda Lee Hurt, 75, of Portsmouth, died Friday, November 2, 2012, at the SOMC Hospice Center. She is survived by three daughters, Karen McCallister and her husband John of Stout, Teresa Hurt and Kimberly Benner, both of Portsmouth; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Service were held Tuesday, Nov. 6 at the Brant Funeral Home in Portsmouth.

Timothy Scott Jennings, 57, of Sciotoville, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2012 at Southern Ohio Medical Center. In addition to his mother Ida Hazel Duncan Jennings of Wheelersburg, Tim is also survived by his wife, Linda Sue Arthur Jennings, a son, Charles Jennings of Huntington, WV; two daughters, Jackie (Chris) Turner of New Boston, and Ashley (Zach) Harr of Lexington, KY; two brothers, Jack (Jane) Jennings of Hillsboro, and Paul (Teresa) Jennings of Wauwatosa, WI; six grandchildren. Services were held Wednesday, Nov. 7 at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Rev. Gary Heimbach officiating.

Millard Mills

1952-2012

Millard “Butch” Mills, 60, of New Boston, died Tuesday, October 23, 2012, at his home. Surviving are his children, Christopher (Jenn Wood) Mills of Portsmouth, and Vicki, Deanna and Michael; three sisters, Linda Jones of Minford, Sharon (Steve) Jenkins of New Boston and Liz (Alvin) Breech of Lucasville and grandchildren. Services were at the convenience of the family under the direction of the Brant Funeral Service in Sciotoville.

Clines Mullins

Clines “Marty” Mullins, 80, of Franklin Furnace, died Friday, November 2, 2012, at SOMC Hospice after a brief battle with lung cancer. He is survived by his wife, Betty L. Little Mullins; two daughters, Rhonda L. Hudnall (William), of Mt. Vernon, Ill; and Cheryl E. Porter of Franklin Furnace; 3 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Services were held Monday, November 5, 2012, at Franklin Furnace Independent Baptist Church with Dennis Hankins officiating.

Dorothy Sparks

Dorothy Lee Sparks, 87, of Wheelersburg, formerly of Sciotoville, died Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at SOMC in Portsmouth. She is survived by two sons, David (Nancy) Sparks of Haverhill, Timothy (Lisa) Sparks of Sciotoville; three daughters, Barbara Preston of Columbus, Sharon Bays of Sciotoville, Beverly (Paul) Seeley of Wheelersburg; twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, one brother, James Ball of TN; one sister, Phyllis (Virgil) Williams of Wheelersburg.

Services were held Saturday, November 10, 2012, at Berean Baptist Church in Sciotoville with Pastor Tim Wright officiating.

Thomas Webb

Thomas R. Webb, 65 of Wheelersburg, died Sunday, November 4, 2012 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth. He is survived by his wife Cynthia; five sons, Adam (Carol) Webb of Marysville, Thomas L. (Crystal) Webb of Portsmouth, Charles Webb of Kenton, Carey (Debbie) Webb of Oklahoma City, OK, Chad Couch of Springfield, OH; one daughter, Annette Trowbridge of Ironton; one brother, Billy Webb of New Boston; one sister, Patty Timmons of Florida and six grandchildren.

Services were held Tuesday, November 6, 2012, at Wolfe - Nelson Funeral Home in Sciotoville with Pastor Bill Adkins officiating.
