The American Cancer Society recommends women age 40 and older have a screening mammogram each year. Screening mammograms help detect breast cancer early, when it is most treatable.
To help women meet this goal, King’s Daughters Mobile Mammography Unit travels throughout the region performing mammograms. The mobile mammography unit will visit King’s Daughters Family Care Center – Wheelersburg on Monday, Nov. 5 and Monday, Nov. 19.
Screening mammograms do not require a physician order, but an appointment is necessary. To schedule, please call King’s Daughters Centralized Scheduling at (606) 408-2742 or toll free 1-877-304-1935.
All tests are performed by specially trained mammography technologists using digital equipment, which results in less radiation exposure.
Many insurance companies cover the entire cost of mammography; check with your insurance provider. King’s Daughters provides a limited number of free mammograms to uninsured/underinsured women through grant funding provided by the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
