Carl Carr

1920-2012

Carl Francis Carr, 92, of Portsmouth, passed away Sunday, October 21, 2012 at Southern Ohio Medical Center. Surviving are a niece, Helen Knauff of McDermott; a nephew, Michael R. Jordan of Lexington, KY.

Services were held Wednesday, Oct. 24 at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Pastor Chuck Holsinger officiating.

Rodney Crabtree

1938-2012

Rodney Crabtree, 74, of New Boston, died Friday, October 19, 2012 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth. He is survived by three sons, Martin, Rodney, and Kevin, all of Columbus; two daughters, Angela and Karen, both of Columbus; two brothers, Earl Crabtree of Portsmouth and Ronald Crabtree of McDermott; one sister, Janet Ratliff of Goshen IN. Private burial will be in Old Wheelersburg Cemetery and there will be no services. Arrangements are being handled by Wolfe-Nelson Funeral Home.

Herman Douglas

1939-2012

Herman E. Douglas, 73, of Blue Run Road, Lucasville, died Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus. He is survived by his wife, Haroldean (Coon) Douglas; two sons, Louis Andrew Douglas of Salt Lake City, Utah, John Franklin Earl Douglas of Lucasville; one daughter, Ashley Veronica (Douglas) Hamilton of Lucasville; two sisters, Eleanor Yelverton of Toledo, Geraldine Hearns of Phoenix City, Alabama; two brothers, Raymond H. Douglas of Dundee, Michigan, Russell H. Douglas of Knoxville, Tennessee; three granddaughters; two step-grandsons and a great granddaughter. Services were held Thursday, October 18, 2012 at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Jackson County, Ohio, with Pastor Rick Ratliff officiating.

James Drake

1937-2012

James Paul Drake, 75, of Portsmouth, died Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at the SOMC Hospice Center. Surviving are his wife, Jessie Bowles Drake, his daughter Jami Sue (Edward) Wise of Portsmouth; a sister, Betty (Sal) Mastandrea of Hebron, CT and a grandson.

Services were held Saturday, Oct. 27 at the Ralph Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Chaplain Jason Coriell officiating.

Betty Lowe

1931-2012

Betty C. Lowe, 81, of Sciotoville, died Monday, October 22, 2012, at her home. Surviving are a son, Tom Lowe of Sciotoville, three daughters, Suzanne Binns Brown of Sciotoville, Michelle (Casey) Lowe Colvin of Ironton and Kathleen Lowe Dean of Sciotoville, a brother, Laurence (Judy) Pitts of South Webster, two sisters, Donna (Raymond) Jones of Medina and Mary Elizabeth (Kenneth) Ellifritt of Wheelersburg and three grandchildren.

Services will be at the convenience of the family with interment in Memorial Burial Park.

Betty Morgan

1921-2012

Laura Elizabeth Morgan, 91, of Lucasville, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012 at SOMC Hospice. She is survived by two daughters, Frances Stephenson of Rotonda West, Fla., and Ruth Ann Buckler of Lucasville; nine grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and one sister Mauna Queen of Lucasville.

Services were held on, Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012 at the Cook Road Baptist Church with Larry Parks officiating.

Esther Pilch

1924-2012

Esther Marie Pilch, 88 of Wheelersburg died Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at Best Care Nursing Home. She is survived by a sister, Evelyn Bradley and many nieces and nephews. Services were held Monday, October 22, 2012 at Saint John’s Lutherna Church with Reverend Carl Beck officiating. Burial will be in Saint John’s Cemetery. Friends may call the the Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home Sunday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Tim Watts

1948-2012

Tim Watts 64 of Ironton died Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at his residence. He is survived by his wife, Nita Fitzwater Watts. Also surviving are three brothers, Tony (Slena) Watts, Douglas (Mary) Watts and Taylor Jr. (Geraldine) Watts, five sisters, Hester (Millard) Adkins, Maxine (Charles) Thompson, Rainelle Elliott, Joyce Pickett and Loretta Kirk and three granddaughters.

Services were held Friday, October 19, 2012. at the Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg with Reverend Charles Shields and Reverend Perry Prosch officiating.

Wayne Williams

1934-2012

Wayne W. Williams, 78, of Sciotodale, died Friday, October 19, 2012, at the SOMC Hospice House. Surviving are his wife, June Howell Williams, six children, Terry David (Ann Reber) of Columbus, Timothy Wayne (Carol) of Eden Park, Todd Matthew (Tracy) of Cincinnati, Tracie Denise (Kevin) Fannin of Minford, Ty Andrew of Minford and Thomas Howell (Amy) of Rigrish Addition, 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Services were held on Monday, Oct. 22 at the Brant Funeral Home in Sciotoville with Ron Parker and Mike Simpson officiating.

Robin Valli

1955-2012

Robin Sue Valli, 56, of Portsmouth, died Sunday, October 21, 2012 at the SOMC Hospice Center. In addition to her father Richard B. Dodge, she is survived by her family, her husband Joseph Valli, DC, two daughters Lindsey and Lauren Valli, a brother, Jeffrey (Dwana) Dodge of Minford; a sister, Cindy (Brian) Pollard of Minford. Services were held on Thursday, Oct. 25 at the Ralph Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Ed Crabtree officiating.
