The Time Out for Me pre-teen program located at the 14th Street Community Center had the opportunity to visit Hurricane Run Farm owned by Kevin and Barb Bradbury. Hurricane Run Farm provides locally grown organic produce and home-made nutritious whole grain breads and baked goods, granola, and home-canned jams and jellies. Maple syrup, made from the sap of maple trees on the farm, is also sold annually during the spring. The youth were excited to gather their very own vegetables from the garden. After discussing the nutritional value of food for good mental and physical health, the youth were served a healthy home cooked meal prepared by Barb and Kevin. For questions or comments, contact Marcia Harris at 740 353 8056 or Barb Bradbury at kevinearlbradbury@gmail.com.
