Edgar Allen

Edgar Aaron Allen, 89, of Minford, died Saturday, September 22, 2012 at Minford Retirement Center, Elbrooke Pavilion. He is survived by his wife Ruby Jean Ball Allen; two sons, Gregory (Jennifer) Allen of Portsmouth, Dane (B’ Jo) Allen of Minford; two daughters, Brenda (Tom) Kallner of Minford, Elaine Allen of Minford; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Graveside services will be at the convenience of the family.

Janice Alley

1947-2012

Janice Faye Alley, 65, of Wheelersburg, died Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at her residence. She is survived by one son, William J. Alley of Lucasville; two daughters, Christina L. Alley of Wheelersburg, Angela F. (Herb) Pistole of Portsmouth; four grandchildren, one brother, Stan (Patty) Conklin, and two sisters, Barb (Bill) Alley and Debbie (Rick) McClurg. Services were held Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Rev. Harold Cox officiating.

Anthony Bradley

1954-2012

Anthony Alexander Bradley, of Franklin Furnace died September 21, 2012 at home. He is survived by his wife, Ollie Diane “Cantrell” Bradley, also surviving, a daughter, Rebekah Bradley; a son, Justin Bradley; two brothers, Brett and Paul Bradley Jr; two sisters, Madonna Ferrell and Michelle McClease; and two grandchildren. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Clayton Coburn

1929-2012

Clayton Frederick Coburn, 82, of McDermott, died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012 at his residence. He is survived by one daughter Lois (Richard) Phillips of McDermott; two grandchildren, one great granddaughter, one brother George “Pete” Coburn of McDermott and one sister Ida Fay Guilkey of Columbus. Services were held Friday, Sept. 28, 2012 at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville with George “Pete” Coburn officiating.

Garnet Davis

1930-2012

Garnet Faye Davis of Wheelersburg went in peace to meet our Lord on September 25, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. at SOMC Hospice. Garnet is survived by her two children, Debra Cupp of Wheelersburg and Darrell Randolf Davis of Huntsville, Alabama; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, six sisters and one brother.

Services were held Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg with Pastor Danny Thompson and Francis Wiley officiating.

Tom Evans Jr

1942-2012

Arlie Thomas Evans Jr, of Wheelersburg, died September 24, 2012 at home. He is survived by his wife, Mary “Mullens” Evans, also surviving, a son, Arlie Thomas Evans III of North Carolina; two daughters, Tomi Ranae (Nicholas) Eskridge of Wheelersburg, and Jennifer Moorhead of Portsmouth; four brothers, Guy Edward (Theresa) Leake of Arkansas, Frank (Bobbi) Leake of Flordia, Raymond (Stephanie) Evans of Cleveland and Ralph (Mary Beth) Evans of Dayton; a sister, Diane (Rick) Holton of Texas and eight grandchildren. Services were held on Friday, September 28 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg.

Roger Lee Gahm Sr.

1940-2012

Roger Lee Gahm Sr., 72, of Lucasville, died, Friday, Sept. 21, 2012 from Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth. He is survived by his wife, Darlene Daniel Gahm, two daughters Lisa (Dean) White Novinger of Portsmouth and Lori (Donnie) Shope of Lucasville; three sons Roger Lee (Vicki) Gahm Jr. of Lucasville, Rodney (Kim) Gahm of Lucasville, and Ryan Gahm of Lucasville; six grandchildren, two great grandchildren and two brothers Eugene (Janet) Gahm and John Gahm both of Lucasville. Services were held Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012 at the Valley High School Gymnasium with Barry Pelphrey and Andy Day officiating.

Wilma Gifford

1926-2012

Wilma (Cartee) Gifford, 86 of Franklin Furnace, died Sunday, September 23, 2012 at her daughter’s home with her family by her side. She is survived by a son, Pat (Donna) Gifford; four daughters, Rita (Steve) Ratliff, Towana (Merrill) Howland, Tina Cooper, and Kay (Doug) Slusher; three sisters, Hazel Blackburn, Phyllis Micucci, and Mary Brannigan; and two brothers, Harold and Emil Cartee; twelve grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Services were held Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg, with Todd Cooper officiating.

Martha Gilmer

1930-2012

Martha Ellen Dunham Gilmer, 81, of Portsmouth, passed away on September 22, 2012 at The Ohio State University Medical Center. Surviving are her son, David Gilmer of Portsmouth; daughter, Kay Ellen Gilmer-Dewey and son-in-law, Ken Dewey of Laurelville, Ohio; granddaughters, grandsons, great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life was held Saturday, September 29.

Jane Humble

1939-2012

Jane Humble, 73, of Portsmouth, died Friday, September 21, 2012, at home. Surviving are a son, Ted Cooper of Portsmouth, a daughter, Teresa Jane Lodwick of Portsmouth, two grandsons and four great-grandchildren. Arrangements are under the direction of the Brant Funeral Home in Portsmouth. A memorial service will be scheduled in the future.

Edith Sims Rider

Edyie passed away at her home in Leesburg, Florida, on August 24, 2012.

She is survived by her husband Paul E. Rider, and two children,
