Free Dance for Fitness classes are being offered for eight weeks from 5:50 to 7:00 p.m. beginning Monday, Sept. 24 in the Howland Recital Hall, third floor, in Shawnee State University’s Vern Riffe Center for the Arts.


Jane Murray is the instructor and she will also be teaching on Wednesdays from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. beginning Wednesday, Sept. 26 for eight weeks.


Students in the classes will learn dance techniques including modern, jazz, ballet, Latin jazz and dance for theatre. No prior dance experience or training required. The focus is on conditioning, strength, balance and flexibility.


Wear exercise or dance attire and dance barefoot or wear jazz dance shoes. Classes are open to the public and faculty, staff and students at SSU. Limit of 20 students per class.
