On April 1, Shawnee State University welcomed Dr. Sharon Sullivan, Assoc. Professor at Washburn University who lectured on ‘Human Trafficking in Our Backyard” as its final Women’s History Month event sponsored and organized by the campus Women’s Center.Sullivan is the co-founder/director of STARS (Stop Trafficking and Reject Slavery), the founder of the Kansas Freedom Network, a statewide coalition of people addressing human trafficking in Kansas, Vice-Chair of the Advisory Board for the Topeka Center for Peace and Justice, and the Midwest Bureau Chief for the International Public Policy Institute.
