John Haskins, an artist and student at Shawnee State University, is the February Featured Artist at Boneyfiddle Arts Center. John grew up locally in south Webster, Ohio and comes from a family of artists. He has recently received the first place award at the Shawnee State Student Art Exhibition and has shown his paintings in juried exhibitions in both the Southern Ohio Museum’s Cream of the Crop show and the Governor’s Youth Art Exhibition. Using photo realistic painting techniques he portrays beautifully rendered rural scenes to better understand and appreciate the “everyday” world around him.

BAC, 546 Second Street in Portsmouth, Ohio will host a free artist reception in his honor on Friday, February 1, 2013 from 5 to 8 PM to allow you to meet him and discuss his work.
