As part of the Ohio Department of Transportation – District 9’s Planning & Engineering Department, the district’s Environmental Office is seeking public input on the following proposed projects.

Ross County – ROS-772-1.89 – It is proposed to replace a culvert at the 1.89-mile marker on state Route 772, south of the intersection with Township Road 154 (Camelin Hill Road), in Huntington Township. The project will need approximately 0.02 acres of permanent right of way, which is located along a steep slope and forested area. Some small trees and bushes will be removed; however, none of the trees have habitat for Indiana bat. No homes, businesses or structures will be removed by the project. The project will be completed by ODOT county maintenance forces. Scioto County – SCI-140-2.05 (PID: 91930) – The proposed project is the realignment and widening of 0.2 miles of state Route 140 at the intersections of County Road 15 and County Road 250 (Dixon Mill and Lang-Slocum roads), as well as the addition of a left-turn lane at Dixon Mill Road. The project will need approximately 1.517 acres of temporary right of way and 1.01 acres of permanent right of way. The right of way is located along mowed residential lawns and a parking lot. Two structures, which are located on the south side of S.R. 140, will be removed by the project as they are encroaching on the right of way and needed to be removed for the roadway to be moved south. Some small trees and bushes will be removed; however, none of the trees have habitat for Indiana bat. The project is currently expected to be awarded in July 2016. Additional information regarding either project, including a complete project description, maps and plans sheets, is available online at http://www.dot.state.oh.us/districts/D09/Pages/Public-Involvement-Process.aspx. Issues the public may wish to comment on include the effect on local residents, air quality, the local economy, and historic or cultural resources. Written comments should be submitted by January 23, 2013, or the deadline date that is posted on the web site, to:

Greg Manson, ODOT District 9 Environmental Supervisor P.O. Box 467; 650 Eastern Avenue, Chillicothe, Ohio 456701 E-Mail: greg.manson@dot.state.oh.us
