PIKETON, Ohio – USEC Inc. has named Matt Sanders to serve as manager of the Balance of Plant Process Area at its American Centrifuge Plant. This area supports plant utilities. Sanders replaces Dave Hayden, of Wheelersburg, who recently retired after more than 35 years of service for USEC and its predecessors at the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant and the American Centrifuge Plant located on the Department of Energy reservation just outside of Piketon. Sanders reports to David Fosson, operations manager.

Sanders has 13 years of experience at the plant site. He began his career at the former gaseous diffusion plant as an operations first line manager in 1994, and he later served as a cascade operations coordinator, also in Operations. After leaving for six years to work for chemical manufacturing industries in South Carolina and Tennessee, he returned to Piketon in 2008 to serve as the operations interface manager for the American Centrifuge Plant, where he performed integrated systems testing in the Enrichment Operations group.

Sanders has a bachelor of science in chemical engineering from the University of Kentucky. He lives in South Shore, Ky., with his wife April and their two children, Nathan and Abby.

USEC Inc., a global energy company, is a leading supplier of enriched uranium fuel and nuclear industry related services for commercial nuclear power plants.
