The 2013 “Give Kids A Smile Day” was held in partnership with the Southern Ohio Dental Society and Shawnee State Dental Hygiene Program on Friday Feb. 8, at the SSU Dental Lab in the Health Science Building.

They provided dental screenings to approximately 100 underserved children in the area. More than 80 “Give Kids a Smile Day” events were scheduled in the state with an estimated 17,000 children to receive dental services, education and oral care products.

In 2012, nearly 14,000 Ohio children participated in “Give Kids A Smile Day” events with dentists reporting more than $1 million in free services. Since 2003, more than 182,000 Ohio children have been seen at a collective volunteer amount of more than $9.2 million in care.
