June Juanita Biggam (Nee King), 78, of Lakewood, Ohio passed away, Sunday, September 2, 2012 in Cleveland, Ohio. She is survived by her sons, Charles C Caldwell (Lynne) of Spring, TX and Earl Michael Caldwell (Melissa) of Columbus, OH, her daughter, Charmaine (Spears) Palanca (Romeo) Cleveland, OH; stepsons Glenn Biggam of Tampa, FL and Tim Biggam of Dayton, OH; and grandson, along with her sisters, Charlene Lois McGinnis, Fern Sue McQuithy, Nancy Lee Maloney and Sharon Kaye Burns. Service were held Thursday, Sept. 6 at the Brant Funeral Home in Sciotoville.

Ollie Conn, Sr.

Ollie Conn, Sr. 88, of Wheelersburg died Thursday, August 30, 2012, at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth. He is survived by his wife, Pauline Castle Conn, whom he married August 27, 1942, at Inez, KY, three sons, Joe (Susan) Conn, Ollie (Tracy) Conn, Jr. and Larry (Judy) Conn, one daughter, Kathy Conn, three sisters, Joann Carrillo, Christine Haddad and Mary Lou Adkins, nine Grandchildren and fourteen Great-Grandchildren. Services were held Saturday, September 1, 2012 at the Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home with Pastor Blain Etterling officiating.

Sylvia Graham

1941-2012

Sylvia Graham, 71, of Sciotoville, died Friday, August 31, 2012, at the SOMC Hospice House. Surviving are two sons, James (Kendall) Graham of Minford and Jeffery Graham of Columbus; two daughters, Brenda (Jeff Charles) Marsh and Angela (Sam McGuire) Graham, all of Sciotoville; four sisters, Maxine Wilder, Amanda “Birdie” Nickel and Terri Florek, all of Ill., and Karen Hartford of Wisc.; 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Services were held on Wednesday, Sept. 5 at the Brant Funeral Home in Sciotoville.

Suzanne Hazelbaker

Suzanne Hazelbaker, 64, of Rosemount, died Thursday, August 30, 2012, at home. Surviving are her husband, David Hazelbaker, a son, Michael (Ethel) Hazelbaker of Blanchester; her mother, Wanda Donathan Davis of Eaton; two brothers, Mike Davis of Columbus and Mark Davis of Rosemount; two sisters, Marian Jones of Eaton and Karen Craft of Columbus; and two grandchildren. Service were held Saturday, September 1, 2012, at the Brant Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Rev. Oscar Perry officiating.

John Howard

John Everett Howard, 60, of Lucasville, died Friday, Aug. 31, 2012 at Southern Ohio Medical Center.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Ann Scott Howard, one daughter Renee Howard of Lucasville; one son Justin (Brittany) Howard of Decatur, Illinois; two granddaughters, one brother Lowell (Debbie) Howard of Lucasville; one sister Linda Howard Scott of Lucasville and a sister-in-law Barbara Howard of Lucasville.

Services were held Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012 at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville.

Phyllis Laber

1939-2012

Phyllis Joye Laber, 73, of Portsmouth, died Monday, September 3, 2012 at Hillview Retirement Center. She is survived by her husband, Jacob Laber; four sons, Jerry Sparks of Louisa, KY, Kevin Sparks of Grayson, KY, Phillip Laber of Wheelersburg, Jacob Eugene Laber of Minford; one daughter, Marjorie Alley of Lucasville; eleven grandchildren; two sisters, Arbuta Rousseau, Anna Sparks, and one brother, Brady Sparks. Services were held Friday, September 7, 2012 at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace.

Kathleen LeMaster

Kathleen Williams LeMaster, 81, of Burlington, Kentucky, a former Wheelersburg resident, died Monday, September 3, 2012, in Edgewood, Kentucky. She is survived by one son, Cecil Williams, Jr, and wife Sue, of Wheelersburg; two daughters, Vickie Schneider and husband Randy, of Burlington, Ky; Kathy Taylor, of Mansfield; one brother, Emmitt Spradlin, Jr., of Plymouth, MI; one sister, Susie Raike, of Wheelersburg; her son-in-law, Jim Dempsey, of Lucasville; 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Services were held Saturday, September8, 2012, at the Swick-Bussa-Chamberlin Funeral Home in Wheelersburg, with Larry Boggs officiating.

Anthony Madden

1954-2012

Anthony Wayne Madden, 58, of Minford, died Sunday, September 2, 2012 at SOMC Hospice. He is survived by his wife, Ella Parker Madden; two step-daughters, Kay (John) Howard of Minford, Shelley (Gene) Tabor of Rogers, AR; three step-sons, Rob Bush of Columbus, Tim (Johnna) Bush of Lucasville, Donnie (Anissa) Bush of Columbus; fourteen grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; one brother, Gene Madden of Lucasville, and five sisters, Georgia Whisman of Lucasville, Daisy Stevens of Lucasville, Rosie Davis of Lucasville, Delphia Jenkins of Minford, and Delilah Seiling of Portsmouth. Services were held Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Bill Andronis officiating.

Beverly Nelson

1933-2012

Beverly Louise Nelson, 78, of Portsmouth, died on Sunday, September 2, 2012 from her home. Surviving are her five children, Randy (Kathy) Nelson of Portsmouth, Wayne (Yori) Nelson of Jacksonville, NC, Sandi (Frank) Schmidt of Portsmouth, Chuck (Linda) Nelson of Portsmouth and Lynda (Johnny) Collins of South Webster; 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren.

Services were held Wednesday, Sept. 5 at the Brant Funeral Home in portsmouth with Rev. Jack Williams officiating.

Andrew Nichols

1985-2012

Andrew Lee Nichols, 27, of Portsmouth, died Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at

Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus. He is survived by his parents Robert and Christa Bruch Nichols of Portsmouth. Also surviving are his sisters

Laura (Nate) Napier of Minford and Lindsay (Nate) Conn of Wheelersburg and his grandparents Frank and Ann Bruch. Services were held Saturday September 8, 2012 at St Mary Catholic Church with The Rev Adam Streitenberger officiating.

Homer Peach

1928-2012

Homer William Peach, 84, of North Moreland, died Sunday at the Veterans Hospital in Chillicothe. Surviving are special caregivers, Mike & Jackie Craig of North Moreland, Marty Johnson and Paul Kegley. Service were held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 7 at the Brant Funeral Home in Sciotoville with Rev. James Benner officiating.

Talmage Todd

1943-2012

Talmage Todd, 69 of Sciotoville, died Friday, August 31, 2012 at the V.A. Hospital in Dayton. Mike is survived by his wife Diana; one son Scott (Robin) Todd of Sciotoville; two daughters, Tammy Doyle of Sciotoville and Sherri Todd of Columbus; one brother Bob (Sparkle) Todd of Lucasville; two sisters, Debbie Bazzler (Dennis) of West Portsmouth and Jonda (Jerry) Harper of Zanesville; 16 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren. Services were held Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at Wolfe-Nelson Funeral Home in Sciotoville with Pastor Caleb LaFond officiating.
