Jamie W. Jameson has announced plans to leave his position as program manager of Fluor-B&W Portsmouth at the conclusion of his two-year term with the company in August.

Jameson told employees about his plan Wednesday, July 11. Fluor-B&W is the contractor at the Department of Energy Portsmouth Site in Piketon charged with the safe decontamination and decommissioning of Cold War-era facilities formerly used to enrich uranium.

Jameson has led the company since it was awarded the cleanup contract in August 2010. After the conclusion of his term Aug. 17 he will leave Fluor-B&W to pursue other activities.

“I am proud of what we have been able to accomplish together in light of the challenges we have faced in the past two years,” Jameson told employees. “ I feel confident that this project has the workforce and the leadership to continue to progress and achieve its mission.”

Jameson said a person has been proposed for the position and will be evaluated by the DOE for approval, with more details to be provided later.
