The New Boston Homemakers and Community Education Club met Thursday, July 10 at Rosella Riepenhoff’s home.
Rosella, President, opened the meeting. Janet Riepenhoff led the pledge and Patty Jenkins led the creed. Ten members answered roll call. Janet collected the Sunshine Fund.
Alberta Potters gave the secretary’s report. Patty Jenkins made the motion to accept minutes as read; Irene Duffany seconded. Motion carried.
Janet gave the treasurer’s report. Alberta Potters made the motion to accept minutes as read; Vanessa Fowler seconded. Motion carried.
Devotions were given by Janice Tomlin “Twas Commotion and Chaos” by Betty Stearns. Patty Jenkins will have devotions in September.
Alberta reported on the state meeting. A map of counties in each district is being worked on. The state meeting will be held at Deer Creek State Park.
Celebrate the Holiday will be November 18. The theme is Peace on Earth. Minford will be in charge of curtain calls. Candy boxes with candy inside will be the table favors. The tables will be covered with white tablecloths and red napkins. Alberta has the tablecloths. Irene will be making ink pens topped with poinsettia and cardinals for favors, also. Janice has 46 KFC lid ornaments. Vases with poinsettias will be placed on the tables. Alberta will be making flower arrangements for the registration and food tables. Janet is to get the door prize. Members are to bring any other ideas for decorations to the October meeting.
Janet Riepenhoff made the motion to adjourn; Irene Duffany seconded. Motion carried. Janice gave the blessing on the meal.
The next meeting will be September 12 at 11:00 am at the New Boston Community Center.
