The Scioto County Board of DD met in special session Wednesday, May 28 at STAR, Inc., which is located at 2625 Gallia Street, Portsmouth. The Board took the following actions:
- Accepted the decision of the referee in the appeal filed by former superintendent James Krumer regarding his dismissal in January 2014. The referee found that Mr. Krumer was dismissed with cause. The Board president was also authorized to inform Mr. Krumer of the Board’s acceptance of the decision.
- Authorized the Board president to contact Ohio Department of DD Director John Martin to request his approval to extend the interim superintendent contract. This provision is required by Ohio Revised Code Section 5126.0219 (C).
- Postponed the June 19 board meeting until June 30 at 6:00 PM in the STAR, Inc. building. At that time, the Board will hold a special meeting for the purpose of conducting regular business. The Ethics Committee meeting is also postponed until June 30, at 5:45 PM. The Committee will only meet if there is any business to consider. Both meetings will be open to the public.
