Welcome to “Do You Have What it Takes” monthly personal development program for the month of June.

The month of June reminds you that your year is just about half over. Stop and take a moment to glance back to monitor your progress in the last few months. Now ask yourself the following questions: (1) What has been my greatest challenge? (2) Have I remembered to compare myself only with me? (3)Have I remembered that each day is an opportunity to move to the next level? and (4) If I could do it all over again, what would I do differently?

Following your brief review, did you notice that when you went beyond your limit you were suddenly faced with an obstacle?

By the way, what is your limit and why should you respect it? Do you feel it coming (your loss of patience, energy, focus, and confidence)? As you may realize, respecting your limit is directly related to making accurate and timely decisions in your life.

Your limits have great value and should be established at all ages. They create boundaries and a sense of physical and mental security. Your established limits enable you to react in a timely and respectable manner producing positive results and relationships. They alert you when it would be not wise to continue.

The earlier in life your limits are set the more stable and confident you will feel as a child, adolescent, and adult. A child without a set schedule or rules will often find themselves seeking their limits to discover their boundaries, self-worth, and place of security in the family unit. This action could result in harm to the child and others.

In closing, there is a child in all of us and we as adults, may also find ourselves approaching a dangerous point when limits are not set or ignored.

I encourage you this month to recognize the warning signs of your limits. Now, as you see and feel them, be courageous in respecting yourself and others.

I challenge you to stand up, speak up, and move upward to prevent further harm and danger to yourself and others. You will feel empowered and inspire others to do the same.
