On Sunday, breast cancer survivors and their supporters gathered for the Fourth Annual Walk for Women, sponsored by Mason County Educational Outreach Service (CEOS) Clubs, with help from the Mason County Health Department. Despite the cloudy day, several people gathered and raised money to benefit the West Virginia Cervical and Breast Cancer Diagnostic Fund. Pictured are Lana Riffle of Mason County, breast cancer survivor speaking about her journey, as well as survivors lining up near the start of the walk, with the ribbon cut by fellow survivor and Pleasant CEOS Club member, Marilyn Higginbotham. The Kountry Kritters 4-H Club also assisted with the walk.

Editor’s note: Please look for the ‘Knowlege is Power: Breast Cancer Awareness’ special section in the Friday, October 18 edition of The Gallipolis Daily Tribune for more valuable information and stories of survival.
