The New Boston Alumni Association held its 18th annual alumni banquet on Saturday, July 26, 2014. The 2014-15 Glenwood High School cheerleaders and band entertained 198 alumni members attending the event. Mr. Steve Hamilton gave the invocation. A buffet style dinner and dancing followed.


Teagen Queen, 2014 Valedictorian, received a $1,000 Merit Scholarship. She is the daughter of Abbey Searls and Charles Queen. Teagen will be attending the University of Cincinnati and will study to be an astrophysicist.


Jordan Moore, 2014 Salutatorian, received a $1,000 Merit Scholarship. He is the son of Jeff Moore. Jordan will be attending Ohio University and major in social studies.


Andrew Scherer, 2011 Valedictorian, received at $1,000 Merit Scholarship. He is the son of Daniel and Helen Scherer. Andrew will be a senior at Shawnee State University majoring in Plastics Technology.


Elizabeth Spears, Glenwood High School Class of 2005 received a $1,000 Merit Scholarship. She is attending Otterbein University and is pursuing her master’s degree/certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Elizabeth is the daughter of Mark and Debbie Spears.


Audrianna Lindamood, 2013 Salutatorian, received a $1,000 Theora Rickey Scholarship. She is the daughter of Christine Shephard. She is attending Shawnee State University majoring in early childhood education.


Courtney Horsley, 2012 Valedictorian, received a $1,000 Estalene Rickey Scholarship. She is the daughter of Rusty and Kim Horsley. She is attending Shawnee State University and is majoring in legal assisting.


Brett Horsley, Glenwood High School Class of 2014, received a $1,000 Helen Runyon Hickman Scholarship. He is the son of Rusty and Kim Horsley. He will attend Shawnee State University and major in creative writing.


Kaitlyn Fannin, Glenwood High School Class of 2014, received a $1,000 Don Hickman Scholarhip. She is the daughter of Nichole Fannin and Jason Wolfe. She will be attending Shawnee State University and major in physical therapy.


Rosella Riepenhoff, Glenwood High School Class of 1941 was recognized as the oldest female attending the banquet. Harold Adams, Glenwood High School Class of 1939 was recognized as the oldest male attending the banquet. Roy Imes, Glenwood High School Class of 1954 was recognized as the person traveling the farthest to attend.


Mr. Jon Wickline, Glenwood High School Class of 1954 was the guest speaker. He spoke of the history of the alumni association. Founding members were recognized.


Mr. Wickline was honored for his years of service to New Boston Local School District and the Village of New Boston. He was presented with a key to the Village, a plaque and his first varsity school jacket.
