The United Way of Scioto and Adams County presented a check for $500 to Scioto County Board of Developmental Disabilities (SCBDD) and STAR, Inc. to aid in the volunteer efforts of the organizations' !MPACT team and Kiwanis Aktion Club. The group travels and provides a variety of volunteer services as a way to give back and assist organizations throughout the county. United Way Executive Director Mary Ann Miars-Peercy, left, presented the check to !MPACT/Aktion Club Advisor K.C. Chatfield on Friday, Jan. 17. The group will use the money to pay for dues and travel expenses associated with the club's volunteer efforts. The Aktion Club and members of the SCBDD !MPACT team donated more than 3200 hours in volunteer services in 2013.
