Bridges To Transition Course Graduates Nine Students

This year’s graduates are: Isaac Breech, James Charles, Alex Sudbrook, Ivy Crabtree, Austin Sampson, Jacee Yearwood, Bethany Grate, Hannah Altman, and Jonathan Maynard.The Vocation Station and Bridges to Transition provide a summer program annually for high school students, teaching them vocational skills in preparation for the workforce. The program provides opportunities for career exploration, job searching skills, as well as work experience. This year’s program was a five-week course with the first week being classroom time at the Vocation Station, then paid work experience at one of two community sites: the Elks Country Club or the Salvation Army. Community Action and the Salvation Army provided hot lunches for the students throughout the duration of the program for students who chose to participate. Bridges to Transition Coordinator Dannielle Pavick organized the program. Coaching staff for the duration of the program included: Megan Stringfellow, Stephanie Kuhn, Donnie Albrecht, Lori Snydor, Melissa Hall, and Elana Spencer. Mariane Barnett, Vocation Station intern and Wright State graduate student, assisted with the program.
