Local organizations donate $1,000 to Ronald McDonald House Charities

Huntington, W.Va. – Representatives from the local McDonald’s of the Tri-State and Jeff’s Bike Shop presented a check to Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Tri-State, located in Huntington, W.Va., for the amount of $1,000. The funds were a part of the 2016 McDonald’s Tri-State Criterium, an annual bike race held in Huntington each year.

The Criterium is held in Pullman Square and includes races for children, amateur racers, and advanced cyclists. Firefighters and police officers can also be involved through the public safety race. Spectators enjoyed several sponsor booths and families took advantage of the Kid Zone, which had a variety of activities for children, while waiting for riders to pass. The 2016 McDonald’s® Tri-State Criterium is a proud supporter of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Tri-State.

The Huntington Ronald McDonald House was opened in 1987 and families have been finding support there ever since. Since their opening, the House has served over 10,000 families, most of those families coming from southern West Virginia, eastern Kentucky, and southeastern Ohio.
