Piatt earns Veteran School Board Member recognition


Gary Piatt (center) received the Veteran School Board Member Award for 15 years of service to local school boards. Piatt is a member of the South Central Ohio ESC governing board, and the Scioto County Career Technical Center board.

Gary Piatt, a governing board member for South Central Ohio Educational Service Center and appointed to the Scioto County Career Technical Center, was recognized at the Ohio School Boards Association’s Southeast Region Fall Conference.

The conference took place at Nelsonville-York Middle School in Nelsonville on Sept. 29.

The Veteran School Board Member Award recognizes school board members who have served 10, 15 and 20 plus years on their local school boards. Mr. Piatt was recognized for 15 years of service. The Southeast Region is comprised of 18 counties representing 84 school districts.

Additionally recognized from Scioto County was Elaine Evans of New Boston School (15 years), and Carl Crabtree of Valley School (45 years).
