The League of Women Voters of Portsmouth/Scioto County is hosting its
Meet the Candidates Night on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. at the Scioto County Welcome Center, 342 Second Street, Portsmouth. Candidates for County Commissioner, Sherriff, County Engineer, and Judge of the Court of Appeals (4th District) will be speaking and answering questions submitted by the audience. An informal meet-and-greet will follow.
Invited candidates include: For Scioto County Commissioner: Cathy E. Coleman (R), David Malone (D), Mike Crabtree (R), and Kevin W. Johnson (D); for Sherriff: Marty V. Donini (R) and Steve Goins (D); for County Engineer: Darren C. LeBrun (R) and Craig Opperman (D); for Judge of the Court of Appeals (4th Dist.): Valarie K. Gerlach, and Matthew W. McFarland.
The purpose of The League of Women Voters is to promote political responsibility through informed and active participation of citizens in government. The League does not support or oppose any political party or candidate, but may take political action on issues based on comprehensive studies.
