A special Family Movie Night will take place on Saturday, Oct. 15, at 6 p.m. at the 14th Street Community Center in Portsmouth. The popular movie, ‘War Room’ will be shown, with a host of children’s activities to take place. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. admission is free and open to the public.
The Family Movie Night is being sponsored by Pleasant Green Baptist Church. Pastor of PGBC, Clarence Parker, said the event is a community outreach effort.
“Myself, and the entire family of Pleasant Green Baptist Church would like to invite and encourage all of our local community to come out and enjoy three message of this powerful gospel film. We are looking forward to a great time of fun, food and fellowship. And we would love for you to come out and be a part of this community outreach,” Parker said.
The event will offer free popcorn and other tasty snacks. Childcare will be provided for children age three and up, with a host of fun-filled activities take part in while the movie is being shown.
Ruby Grant, member of PGBC, said Family Movie Night is a wonderful outing for families.
“We are hosting this Family Movie Night event for families to have an opportunity to get and and enjoy themselves,” Grant said. “By incorporating the child care for children ages three and up, parents and or guardians and feel free to bring their children out with them as they view the movie, which is a very good movie. We are looking forward to seeing everyone out.”
