PORTSMOUTH, Ohio – As part of the 2016-17 Southern Ohio Performing Arts Association (SOPAA) and Shawnee State University season, the Tony Award winning musical, Once, will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 12 at the Vern Riffe Center for the Arts.
Set in a pub in Dublin, Once, tells the story of a street musician on the brink of giving up his dreams when a beautiful woman takes an interest in his songs. Once is more than the typical boy meets girl story. It creates more of an intimate environment that draws the audience in to make them feel as if they are part of a group witnessing the love blossoming between the two characters.
Before the show and during the intermission, the audience members are invited to enter the pub onstage to have a drink alongside the performers.
Tickets for Once are $60 for the general public, $55 for seniors, $45 for students and $25 for children under the age of 12. Upper tier prices are available at a discounted price and special discounts are available for families and groups.
