PORTSMOUTH, Ohio – The Vern Riffe Center for the Arts will be hosting an Open House from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24.
The Open House is an opportunity for people to go backstage and see how the magic of a show is created. VRCFA staff members will be on hand to give tours, answer any questions about VRCFA activities, and Shawnee State University students in the Theatre program will also be available to talk about their experience in training to become performers.
The Open House also allows anyone interested in renting the VRCFA for events to learn more about the facility and the Community Assistance Grant that is available to defray rental fees for non-profit organizations.
“Every year, dozens of people come in and say they have lived in this are all of their lives and driven past the VRCFA, but have never come in,” said VRCFA Director, Joe Patti. “We thought this would be a great and fun event to let the public take a look around and learn about the VRCFA where there are no events to restrict access to the backstage areas.”
Free refreshments will be served during the event.
