PORTSMOUTH, Ohio – Shawnee State University Development Foundation received a generous gift from Dr. and Mrs. Garret Schell Bressler and Family to establish the Marion Lincoln Counts Scholarship.
Dr. and Mrs. Garret Schell Bressler and Family established the Marion Lincoln Counts Scholarship in honor of Mrs. Bressler’s mother, Marion Lincoln Counts.
“My mother absolutely loved Portsmouth and having Shawnee State there. Every time my family would visit, she would show us what all was new and happening at Shawnee State. She loved that the students and the university were a part of her community. Establishing this scholarship in her name just seemed like the perfect way for my family to honor her, and that this would make her very happy,” said Barbara Bressler.
Applicants of the Marion Lincoln Counts Scholarship must be an employee or a relative of an employee at the Hill View Retirement Center and must maintain a minimum of a 2.0 GPA.
The Marion Lincoln Counts Scholarship is an annual scholarship awarded with guidance of the SSU Financial Aid Office.
