PORTSMOUTH, Ohio – At its last meeting, the Shawnee State University Board of Trustees appointed Dr. Anne Marie Gillespie as the new Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student Services beginning Jan. 18.
“We have expanded this role with greater emphasis on the relationship between enrollment management and student affairs,” Dr. Rick Kurtz, SSU President said. “As vice president, Anne Marie will lead our efforts in recruitment and retention of students, working closely with Academic Affairs and the entire campus as we implement strategies to attract more students and help them reach their education goals.”
Gillespie is a graduate of Western Michigan University where she obtained a PhD in Educational Leadership for Higher Education. She has worked at Ferris State University as the Director of Student Academic Affairs for the College of Arts and Sciences where her primary responsibility as chief retention officer was to oversee student services, recruitment, enrollment management, degree progression, and branding activities for the college. She also served as the Co-Interim Department Head of Social Sciences, Educational Counselor and Associate Professor at Ferris State University. Gillespie has also been an instructor at the University of Central Arkansas, Eastern Illinois University and University of Nevada, Reno.
As Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student Services at Shawnee State University, Gillespie will lead the Office of Admission, Dean of Students, Housing and Residence Life, Counseling and Health Services, Student Activities, Multicultural Student Affairs, and Financial Aid.
