PALS (Portsmouth Area Ladies, Inc.) will usher in the summer season with warm weather fashions and food when the volunteer group hosts a spring luncheon and style show on May 17 at the SOMC Friends Center.
Women of all ages are invited to the event planned for 12 noon until 2 p.m. Along with new fashions and a delicious lunch, the afternoon will feature five intriguing raffle baskets, vendors offering creative products, door prizes and sales of mums for fall, according to Tami Davis, chairperson for the fundraiser.
Local models will showcase a variety of sportswear and dressy styles for a range of different ages. Clothing will be provided by the Ritz, Maurice’s and Goody’s. Harpist Becky Climer will perform engaging music while guests enjoy their lunch.
Tickets for the luncheon and style show are $20 per person and may be obtained by calling Betty Applegate at 353-1288 or Carol Davis at 574-6998.
Five raffle baskets will offer prizes based on themes of Beach and Pool, Picnic, Garden, Spa and Sports. PALS members are pre-selling the basket raffle tickets for $1 each or six for $5.
Vendors will include ThirtyOne, Origami Owl, Spartina, Advocare and Sole Styles. Guests also will be able to place orders for fall mums in a variety of colors planted in 10 inch pots which will be available in mid-September. The price of the mums is $15 and payment must accompany orders taken on May 17.
Proceeds from the luncheon and style show will enable PALS to help Portsmouth area
nonprofit organizations carry out worthwhile community projects. Sponsors for the fundraiser include Morgan Brothers Jewelers, United Collection Bureau, American Savings Bank, Southern Ohio Medical Center, Wayne Wheeler, MD, Steven Fitzer, DDS, Bob and Carol Mascari, Ralph and Julia Wisniewski, and Frank and Janis Waller.
