New assistant prosecutor takes oath

Scioto County Prosecutor Mark Kuhn announced that on April 7, Attorney Jay Willis joined the office of the prosecuting attorney for Scioto county. Mr. Willis took his oath of office as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney on April 7. Mr. Willis has been assigned as the lead juvenile prosecutor in all delinquency, unruly and truancy cases in Scioto County. Willis will also be serving as trial counsel on some adult felony indictments.

Jay Willis has practiced law since 1995 following his graduation from Capital University Law School. He has previously served as a Magistrate and Judge of the Scioto county Domestic Relations Court, and as practicing attorney in his private law practice.

Attorney Shane Tieman, the previous Juvenile Assistant Prosecutor will now handle adult felony trials before Judge William T. Marshall. Tieman will also be handling other major felony cases by assignment.
