Scioto County Board of DD participates in national Read for the Record event

The United Way of Scioto and Adams Counties and the Scioto County Board of Developmental Disabilities’ !MPACT Team participated in the national event Read for the Record, where each year, millions of individuals come together to celebrate literacy by reading the same book at the same time, on the same day. Read for the Record broke last year’s record of 2.3 million adults and children. A total 2,462,860 adults and children read Otis, by Loren Long. This record-breaking event focused on the importance of early literacy in a young children’s development. SCBDD !MPACT team member Jena Pitts shows the certificate she received for participating in the event.
